Nicola Christofides | Assistant Director | Complyport, UK

Nicola Christofides brings over 18 years of experience in Financial Services Regulation and Compliance. Prior to Complyport, Nicola worked at Barclays where she was a Senior Director in Compliance and Financial Crime leading large global teams specialising on Senior Managers Regime, Risk, Reporting and Governance. Nicola also had a long career at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) working in a number of departments including Policy, Enforcement and Authorisations, with her last role heading up the Governance for the FCA, working closely with the ExCo and the Board.

Joanna Wands | Head of UK & Europe | AsiaVerify, UK

Joanna Wands is a distinguished expert in RegTech with over 15 years of experience in compliance, risk management, and financial crime prevention. As the Head of UK and Europe at AsiaVerify, she collaborates with organizations across EMEA and APAC to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance compliance processes and mitigate risks. Joanna is passionate about leveraging data and technology to improve business practices and is a strong advocate for better data sharing and transparency to combat financial crime. Her extensive background and commitment to excellence make her a key player in the RegTech industry.

Nadia A. Ziani | Director for the UK & Channel Islands | SQOPE Intelligence, UK

Based out of our UK office, Nadia joined Sqope in October 2023 with over 15 years of experience as a senior sales and strategy professional. Specializing in new product launches and go-to-market strategies in the compliance and risk management sectors, particularly in the financial and banking industries, she has held managerial positions at leading companies. This includes as Head of Risk and Compliance for EMEA at the Square Facts division of the iCOVER group, as well as at Thomas Reuters — World Check, Acuris Risk Intelligence, and SWIFT. With a history of successfully building and developing markets in the UK, western Europe, and the Middle East and North Africa region, Nadia joined Sqope Intelligence to lead the company’s expansion in the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands, and Isle of Mann. In addition to her years of experience, Nadia brings to the company her extensive international and cross-sector exposure and a deep-seated belief in the importance of promoting due diligence, AML, and KYC best practices, ESG reputational awareness, and higher standards within the compliance world. Nadia holds an MPhil in Information and Communication with distinction from La Sorbonne University in Paris and an MA in European Policy and Management from the University of London, Birkbeck College. Her international exposure and experience is also demonstrated with her fluency in four languages: English, French, Arabic, and Italian.
