This approach can lead to a lack of engagement and resentment among employees, as they feel their unique perspectives and skills are undervalued. For instance, a company might hire a diverse workforce but fail to provide equitable opportunities for advancement or input in decision-making. This can lead to high turnover rates among minority employees who feel marginalised and underutilised.
